ROAD SAFETY AND INFRASTRUCTURE
UPGRADE ROAD SEAL WIDTH
DUNDEE PLACE, NAMARANDA DRIVE AND BALANDA DRIVE
The upgrade works at Dundee Place, Namarada Drive, and Balanda Drive addressed critical pavement and drainage issues, improving the overall functionality and safety of the roads. The primary objective was to widen the sealed road surfaces to an 8-metre width, covering approximately 300 metres along Dundee Place, 240 metres on Namarada Drive, and 50 metres on Balanda Drive. This enhancement improves the intersection and ensures the roads meet modern standards for durability and safety, particularly in areas prone to erosion and water damage.
The works involved reconstructing the pavement, upgrading drainage systems, and removing select trees to facilitate the road improvements. In addition, new table drains will be installed to divert water away from the road surface, preventing damage to the foundation and prolonging the lifespan of the road. By implementing thorough civil engineering solutions and adhering to environmental guidelines, the project seeks to not only repair but also enhance the resilience of these roads against future environmental challenges.
